The central and |lateral incisors| are located at the front of the |mandible|. Their sharp edges are ideal for cutting bits of food (hence the name "incisors") to be sent back to the other |teeth| for processing. The incisor features a single root stem like the |canines| and the |premolars |(bicuspids).
